Canada Inks Up! Blog Hop - Christmas in July

The theme this month is Christmas in July. There's no time like the present to begin preparing for the season's greetings and as demonstrators we have the privilege of pre-purchasing products from the new mini catalogue that launches live on August 3, 2021. Although you'll see I chose DSP from the annual catalogue and paired it up with a new stamp sentiment and die cut.

Now I have to admit, getting my head around stamping Christmas cards in July was a stretch, but I packed some of my supplies on a recent camping trip and thought here goes...

I am lucky to have married a man who loves to fish, so while he's trying to catch dinner I happily hang out and make cards...it's so peaceful and relaxing!

I'd tell you I was limited in what I could create, but in reality some of my favourite cards are made with S.I.P (stamps, ink and paper) Having the mini stamp, cut and emboss machine is a bonus!

I chose the DSP first and then picked out my two new favourite 'in-colors' Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. I cut them to layer under basic white which I used to mount my DSP rectangles. See photos for measurements. Using the sentiment from the new Christmas to Remember stamp set, and holly leaves from the Christmas Season set, with co-ordinating die cuts from the Seasonal Labels dies as well as the Christmas Pinecone dies, this card came together quickly. The following photos show how I put the card together.

A few tricks...I used the Adhesive sheets mounted on the Gold Metallic Specialty paper to cut out the pinecone and gave my sentiment a pop of colour along the edge using a sponge dauber.

Of course all cards need embellishing, so I added Evening Evergreen ribbon and a Brushed Metallic dot and then popped this off my card using Dimensionals.

Happy Christmas in July...I hope my fellow stampin' friends are enjoying their summer! I'd love it if you'd join my private Facebook group SimplyStampinwithSandra or follow my public Facebook page SimpleStampin'Cards
